Class Updates and Reminders

  • There is room in the following classes and events:


  • SC 216, Designer Drugs, on Monday, April 25 at 10 AM in Woodbridge.  Modern research methods in biology and chemistry offer a unique opportunity to rapidly develop new drugs.  This session will describe important discoveries in these fields and how they accelerate drug design focusing on controlling neurodegenerative diseases. No need to contact facilitators – just come to the class on April 25th.


  • SC 217, Science and Technology in Plain English, on Mondays, April 25, May 2, and May 9 at 1:30 in Woodbridge.  If you are interested, not yet enrolled, and would like to enroll in this class, please call the facilitator, Carroll Slemaker, at 949-586-5673.


  • SE 40, Overnight Adventure Trip to Little Petroglyph Canyon, is now open to additional OLLI members and non-OLLI participants. This trip will explore one of the many canyons in the Coso Mountains near Ridgecrest  that contain the largest collection of rock are in North America.  For more details see the class description on page 31 of the Spring Catalog.   • Due to a family emergency of the presenter, Classical Music of Northern India (AH 105) has been rescheduled.  It will meet in the Woodbridge Onken classroom on April 19 and 26 (instead of the original dates of March 29 and April 5). The time remains the same – 1-2:30 PM. If you have questions, or cannot attend on the new dates, please contact facilitators Margo Stuart ( or Cindy Eddleman (

  • The Spring University Club Forum, co-sponsored by OLLI, will continue next Wednesday, April 6, with Jean Stern, executive director of the Irvine Museum, talking about California impressionist and plein air painter Franz Bischoff.
