Celebrate UCI 2011: Hold the date for April 16th

Dear UCI Community,

Celebrate UCI 2011 takes place on Saturday, April 16. I hope that you will attend the day-long event and encourage your friends and families to do the same. This is UC Irvine’s 33rd annual celebration, and it provides an excellent opportunity for prospective students and their families to learn about what makes UC Irvine such a special place. In addition, it gives us all a chance to celebrate our Anteater pride.

This year’s event features an opportunity to meet the artist behind the “B.C.” comic strip that inspired UC Irvine’s anteater mascot. Mason Mastroianni, grandson of “B.C.” creator Johnny Hart, will talk, draw and answer questions from 2 to 3 p.m. in the UCI Student Center.

Other activities throughout the day include live performances on two stages, a car show, campus tours, information sessions for newly admitted students and an Alumni Association hospitality tent. Most events and activities take place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Parking and admission are free.
