    The mission of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is to enhance the quality of life for mature adults by promoting intellectual growth in a center for senior learning. In collaboration with the University of California, Irvine, we provide unique educational experiences in an environment of social interaction.

KIT (Keep In Touch) Mail

  • Summer Lite registration continues for the following classes and events: Birding at the Marsh; Walkabout in the OC; Wine Delights; Explore LA; and Orchids. Click on the Summer Lite logo on the right for more information and enrollment instructions. Friends and neighbors are welcome to join you in this lighter version of learning with OLLI. Register today as some classes are filling up!

 

  • We are sorry to announce that the “C-Food” event with the Ocean Institute on June 29 has been cancelled, due to low participation. Those of you who registered for the event will get refunds.
  • Highlights from OLLI President Pam McGovern’s presentation to the members at last month’s annual meeting:
    • Membership in OLLI at UCI for 2010-2011 was 667.
    • Average course evaluations (on a scale of 1-5) were 4.57-4.64.
    • The OLLI budget is balanced.
    • Member communications have improved with the OLLI blog, weekly KIT mail, and monthly newsletter.
    • We have partnered with many local groups, senior centers, and UCI departments.

Thanks to all who made this past year such a great success for OLLI!
