  • Space is available for the (SE21) Palm Springs Art & Architecture tour. There are still seats available on the bus for the docent tour of the Palm Springs Art Museum and the guided tour of mid-century modern architecture, on October 5, from 7:45 AM – 6:00 PM. In addition to the Museum’s superb permanent collection, our docent will take us through two special exhibitions:  Andrew Wyeth in Perspective and 60’s and 70’s Geometric Abstractions.

Other News

  • Reminder – the New Member Coffee is tomorrow, September 22, at 10 AM in the Woodbridge classroom. If you have questions, contact Jnana Anderson at anelegantviking@gmail.com. We look forward to meeting our newest OLLI members!
  • New Members: Don’t forget to pick up your lanyards and badge holders for your name badges in the OLLI office at 4662 Barranca Parkway in Irvine. We are open Monday through Friday from 9 AM – 2 PM. These items will also be available at the New Member Coffee. Returning members, you may also pick up new lanyards and badge holders from the office if you don’t have them from last year.
  • We apologize to those of you who had to sit through a few warm classes last week. The air conditioner for our classroom had a refrigerant leak, and was not cooling the room properly. The leak has been fixed, and the room is back to a comfortable temperature. You might also want to know that the window side of the classroom tends to be a bit cooler than the other side.
  • Facilitators and Developers (October classes only )

October facilitators, please verify with the presenter, the type of equipment needed –   microphone-lapel, podium, or none. If the presenter is bringing the presentation on a   thumb drive or disc prepared on a PC using PowerPoint, we have the newest version of PowerPoint installed on the desktop. If the Presenter is using a Mac, he or she will probably bring their own laptop. Just remind them to bring the LCD adapter. Donna Krebs, OLLI Tech person, has a Mac laptop with Office 2011 installed, so she can provide it for the Woodbridge classroom as a backup if she knows several days in advance. We also have a VCR player on the desk if one is needed by a presenter. Notify Donna Krebs if you have further questions.

If you need a refresher on how to use the classroom equipment, please e-mail Donna Krebs at: dgkrebs@mac.com and she will set up a time to meet in the Woodbridge classroom.
