KIT (Keep in Touch) Mail

Welcome to our new Spring members and our returning members.

This KIT (Keep in Touch) message is sent every Wednesday by e-mail to let you know about any schedule changes, upcoming events, openings in classes and trips, and other OLLI news. You can view previous KIT messages, the monthly OLLI newsletter, class presentations and other material on our blog: www.olliuci.wordpress.com. If you have already registered for Spring classes, you should have received your confirmation by e-mail (if you registered online) or U.S. mail (if you registered by phone or mail). If you haven’t received yours, contact Student Services at 949-824-5414.

  • The next Travel Talk is at 9:30 AM this Saturday, February 4, in the Woodbridge Onken Classroom.  Travel to Angkor Wat with Dr. Richard Selby, enjoy a lively narrative and take away some tips on shooting better travel photos.   • What’s a Facilitator? Everything you ever wanted to know about Facilitating a course for OLLI will be revealed, Wednesday, Feb. 8, 10 AM-12 noon at Woodbridge. Current Facilitators come by and share your knowledge, pick up class attendance lists, and learn how to access online rosters. New to OLLI? Learn how you can participate. New members welcome.   • ·         The Russia Today class will be extended for two more sessions and all members are welcome.  The same presentation on Mongolia will be given on: Thursday, February 9 at 10 AM and Monday, February 13 at 1 PM in the Woodbridge classroom. OLLI members Lonnie Horn and Donna Krebs have put together an overview of Mongolia as a “sandwich” nation between Russia and China.   • Coming up at the University Club Forum, co-sponsored by OLLI: On Wednesday, February 8, Kerry Vandell, Director of UCI’s Center for Real Estate in the Business School, will speak.   • Do you have an old, small portable TV you aren’t using? OLLI is looking for a donation of a small TV for the presenter’s table. Please, no larger than a 13” screen. Contact the office by replying to this e-mail if you have one to donate.
