  • Russia Today (SS 301 and SS 302): These class sessions start soon and some facilitators have changed.  If you need to ask if there is space for more people (there usually is), change sessions, report an absence, or want to bring a guest, then let the following people know:

  • Shirley Temple and Child Stardom (AH 105) at 2 PM on April 20 in the Woodbridge Onken Classroom. Contact Sally Schwartz at if you would like to attend.
  • 15 Minute Musical Concerts (SE 60) at 10 AM on Thursday, May 3, in UCI’s Winifred Smith Hall (see map at back of OLLI catalog). Don’t miss these 4 delightful original musicals performed by UCI student actors followed by talkback with the director and cast. Members and guests are welcome to this free program. No need to register.

  • We need your help! We are putting together a mailing and need your help for a couple of hours next Tuesday morning folding and stuffing envelopes.   • Coming up at the University Club Forum, co-sponsored by OLLI: On Wednesday, April 18, UCI Professor John Liu will present Immigration as a National Issue. Buffet lunch begins at 11:15 AM and is $13 for OLLI members and $15 for non-members, including tax and gratuity.   • OLLI Travel Talk. Time to share your Travel Tales! Are they cautionary, funny, practical, slightly bizarre? The time and place:  this Saturday, April 14, 9:30 AM in the Woodbridge Onken Classroom. No reservations required; bring your own breakfast if you like.   • Attention Experienced Mah Jongg Players! We play Mah Jongg every Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 PM at the Rancho Senior Center in Irvine. We try to have one or tables going each week.   • The next of the continuing series of Club OLLI Bridge lessons on defense with Richard Anthony is scheduled for Wednesday, April 18, at 2:00 PM in the OLLI Woodbridge classroom. All bridge players are welcome. Questions may be directed to Ann Melfi at
  • Those of you who attended Romanticism in Full Bloom (and other OLLI members) may be interested in UCI’s Annual Honors Concert on at 2 PM on Sunday, April 22 in Winifred Smith Hall.  A wine and cheese reception will follow. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased at the UCI Box Office or at the door. The proceeds will fund the scholarship program. Also, acclaimed pianist and chamber musician Menahem Pressler will give a Master Class for UCI students this Saturday, April 14, at 1 PM in Winifred Smith Hall. Students will perform works by Beethoven, Chopin, Ravel and Bartok. The class is free and open to the public.
