KIT (Keep in Touch) Mail

  • All OLLI Members are invited to the next Travel Talk, at 9:30 AM this Saturday, May 12, in the Woodbridge Onken Classroom. Wanda Baral will talk about the Galapagos. No RSVP required; bring your breakfast if you like.

  • Please join us for the next two classes of Science in Plain English (SC 213). We have plenty of room – no need to register. The course meets from 10 AM-Noon on Thursdays, May 10 and 17,  at the Woodbridge Onken Classroom. This is a course with members of the Science Committee speaking on subjects for which they have some expertise. The objective is to explain some current or classic topics in an easy to understand manner. The topics for the classes are:

May 10: Jerry Florman on The Humanistic Side of the Nobel Prize and Gary Oberts on The Changing Level of the Ocean

May 17: John Bush on Light Bulbs and The Health Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation

  • Reminder: Today’s class on Graduate Research (SS 306) has been cancelled. We hope to schedule this class again in the future.
  • Coming up at the University Club Forum, co-sponsored by OLLI: On Wednesday, May 16, USC Choral Music Professor Nick Strimple will give a talk on Music Through the Ages. Buffet lunch begins at 11:15 AM and is $13 for OLLI members and $15 for non-members, including tax and gratuity. To reserve, call 949-824-7960 or e-mail UClub@uci.edu.
