healthchare 2Robert Murphy explains the current status of the U.S. healthcare system, how we got here, its strengths and weaknesses, and how it measures up to other countries in the world. Why is healthcare so expensive? He will provide insights into why the system has been so difficult to change and what the emerging consensus is among health policy experts on what an ideal healthcare system in the U.S. should look like. He will also explore Obamacare – what it does, what provisions are in it, and to what extent it moves us to a better healthcare system. Looking to the future, we’ll hear how differently healthcare will likely be delivered in this country 10-15 years from now.

  1. Please try to have a roving microphone so we can hear the audience questions. Also, after the break, Dr. Murphy’s lapel mike was placed too low and he was not nearly as audible as the first part of the lecture.
