UCI’s new Center for Autism Research and Treatment (CART) is dedicated to abolishing the current and future burdens of autism through discovery, implementation, education and advocacy of novel care. The expectation is that this new Center will significantly impact the lives of families living with autism spectrum disorder in Southern California. CART is a unique public-private partnership comprised of UCI faculty members dedicated to collaborating on the development of innovative diagnostics and treatments for autism.

Dr. Gargus, the director,  discussed the work of the Center and, for better understanding, recent scientific advances and emerging laboratory and clinical trial studies that lead to promising prospects in the field of complex neurological diseases.
